Diagnostic Imaging

Diagnostic Imaging

Ultrasound

Ultrasound (also called sonography) is a diagnostic medical procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce dynamic, real time, 2-D visual images of organs, tissues or blood flow inside the body.

Ultrasound is often used in the veterinary hospital to examine parts of the body, such as liver, kidneys, urinary bladder, intestinal loops, pancreas, gall bladder, the heart and blood vessels. Ultrasound is also commonly used for pregnancy detection, to screen for free fluid in the abdomen, and to obtain urine samples.

X-rays

Radiographs also play an important role in the diagnosis process. Our on site digital x-rays provide our doctors with high-quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of many disorders.

X-rays are especially useful in the detection of abnormalities of the skeletal system, but are also helpful in diagnosing soft tissue tumors, bone cancer, fractures and growth abnormalities, bladder stones, pregnancy and foreign object that your pet may have eaten.

Through telemedicine, our veterinarians can submit radiographs for review by a board certified radiologist and receive results within hours.
